Exam Introduction
When applying for admission, Australian schools will assess students’ school performance, especially English proficiency, and students’ conduct and performance in extracurricular activities (such as music, sports and art) are also important considerations.
AEAS (Australian Education Assessment Services) is designed for overseas students who intend to enter primary and secondary schools (Year 4-12) in Australia. It is also an entrance examination widely adopted by private secondary schools in various states / territories. In addition to testing students’ English proficiency, AEAS also tests their mathematical ability and non-verbal reasoning ability.
In addition, more and more Australian schools are opening the iSTARTOnline test for students to apply before admission, and the test content of iSTARTOnline is similar to that of AEAS. Some Australian schools even accept students using other English exams (such as Cambridge English exams) for applications instead of AEAS or iSTARTOnline, depending on individual schools’ circumstances. Therefore, parents and students should pay extra attention when applying to different Australian schools.
