Accommodation Introduction:
Students will stay in beautifully refurbished period buildings on campus, enjoying a warm and welcoming home away from home. The accommodation offers single, twin, and a limited number of triple rooms—all with private shower and toilet facilities. Boarding houses are separated by gender and supervised 24/7 by an experienced team of House Parents. The campus has an “in-town” layout, allowing students to easily walk between classrooms, accommodation, dining hall, and activities. Centred on the theme “Shaping Tomorrow,” the course guides participants through news, media, and real-world case studies to explore today’s most pressing global issues—from climate change and social inequality to environmental protection and cultural exchange. While strengthening their English communication skills, students learn the complete documentary production process: selecting a topic, conducting research, scriptwriting, filming, and editing. The programme emphasises the connection between theory and practice, with students stepping outside the classroom to film on location around campus and the surrounding area, interviewing peers, capturing details, and transforming their observations into compelling visual stories. The journey culminates in the “Time to Shine” session, where each team premieres their documentary at a simulated international film festival, followed by a Q&A where they discuss their creative vision with the audience. “University Preparation” is a two-week intensive academic programme designed for students aged 16–17 with a B2+ level of English, aimed at preparing those who wish to pursue higher education in the UK. Centred on the theme “Shaping Tomorrow,” the course guides participants in mastering essential university-level academic skills, including research methods, critical writing, source analysis, and academic presentations. Students gain an in-depth understanding of the UK higher education system, learn how to navigate the UCAS application process, craft compelling personal statements, and practise articulating their strengths in mock interviews.
